Julie Taggart studied painting at the Columbus College of Art and Design and Syracuse University. Her paintings have been included in numerous national and international exhibits. She was represented by Rebecca Ibel Gallery in Columbus until the gallery closed in 2011.

 Since 1994, Julie Taggart has been on the faculty of the Columbus College of Art and Design. She currently holds the position of Dean of the School of Studio Arts.
